Ballinaskellig to Bolus via Artisan Village

Not looped | 6.57 km | Co. Kerry | Moderate walk | Public Transport

Trail Description

Starting out from the pub (lunch on return) there are a few different routes you can go - either along by the sea or you can turn right immediately at the cafe by the beach away from the sea past some newer houses and take the left up the road. This trail takes you past the artisan village that was "reopened" by CJ Haughey in the 80s, well worth stopping in for a look. I never managed to find the full trail up to the headland and was not keen to trespass - but the views out and back on this walk are just amazing down to the atlantic - very easy to imagine the world dropping off out there. Not a very challenging walk - unless it is a very warm day - gentle inclines with plenty to see. On your return either take a dip in the sea, pop into the cafe (free internet) or stop by the bar for a drink and some food.

Trail Comments

Hi Dunanoir, thank you posting this. It looks like a gem. Will defo give it a go the next time I'm in that neck of the woods.
