Trail Description

Ballsghasheen is the anglicised name of 'Bealach Oisín' where Oisín, son of Fionn MacCumhaill is reputed to have returned after 300 years in Tír Na nÓg to Ireland. Unfortunitly quite a bit of this forest has been felled for havesting but the parts that haven't are very serine. Sitka spruce and lodgepine dominate the tree species. Fog can descend quickly and as its a remote location I wouldn't advise walking this trail alone or with improper equipment.
