Trail Description

Over looking Lough Derg the name Ballycuggaran dates back to at least the 10th century and is said to owe its name to the O'Cuggaran family supporters of Brian Boru. Great network of roads of paths. It is said that oak from this area was used to roof Westminister Hall although simular claims have been made for Tomnafinnoge in Wicklow. The trails are normally covering sloping terrain and can be steep in places.
