Mossy Bed (Part of the Blackwater Way)

Not looped | 3.71 km | Co. Cork | Moderate walk

Trail Description

This is the section over Mossy Bed (between Nadd Bog and Bert Hill), the surface is very wet / muddy underfoot, even during dry spells. The route crosses 2 streams and these have sleepers and steps to assist. Some of the embankments are showing signs of erosion so I would advise care be taken. On some of the more exposed sections there is evidence of 4x4 activity which has created deep ruts. Exposed stone on some of the downhill sections are slippy when wet. All of the marker post are in place and the route is easy to follow. (Dec 2012 - Forest operations are in place)
